Recognizing the Bay is a field guide to Tampa Bay, assembled in public. Every week we publish The Board: a short, checked list of what's actually worth your time around the Bay. Markets and popups, openings and shows, the civic stuff that shapes the place. Curated, never a firehose.

Two halves, one guide

The Board is how we find it. The Field Guide, over on Instagram, is how we keep it: the plates, the residents, the footnotes, the small histories worth recognizing. The Board sends you out into the Bay. The Field Guide remembers what you found.

Checked before published

Every item on The Board is checked against the source before it goes out, or it doesn't go out. No fake listings, no copy-paste calendars, no filler. If we're not sure, we leave it off.

No face, on purpose

There's no host here and no influencer. The guide is the personality. We answer in writing as the team at Recognizing the Bay, and we recognize the place itself, not ourselves.
